Example 1:

Topic: “Using GIS mapping to implement strategic enforcement to protect your community”

Learning Objectives:
  • To explore the use of data mapping for assessment of high risk areas.
  • To outline a protocol for using data to allocate enforcement resources.
  • To list influence groups that may be educated using mapped data of alcohol and related crimes for policy change and program sustainability.

Example 2:

Topic: “Wait!  Don’t rush to solution until you’ve defined the problem”

Learning Objectives:   
  • Participant will be able to describe the use of qualitative and quantitative methods for exploring both the face of underage drinking and possible environmental factors.
  • Participants will participate in exercises to help them refine their problem statements based on data from real communities so they can led these exercises at home.
  • Participants will practice the “five whys” strategy of examining the fit between proven enforcement strategies and a defined community problem

count - define - describe - identify - list - name - outline - read - recall - summarize - recognize - reproduce - state - write - discuss - give - estimate - examples - predict

Do not use:

know - understand - appreciate - enhance- grasp - improve - learn
